Formaldehyde
The compound that makes new furniture smell like new furniture. There is no wood and no glue here to release it.
Sustainable
There is nothing in a ZOUND pod to off-gas, because there is nothing in it that off-gasses. No wood. No glue. No screws, no bolts. Built instead from recycled carbon fibre — a first for acoustic pods — and GREENGUARD Gold certified for low chemical emissions.
Measured, not claimed
Emissions figures for the pod's construction, as tested.

What it is made of
The emissions figures above are a consequence of the construction, not an additive that was engineered in afterwards.
A first for acoustic pods. The shell is formed from it rather than assembled out of boards.
No ply, no MDF, no veneer — so nothing in the structure carries a glue line.
Adhesive is the usual source of indoor emissions in flat-pack furniture. There is none.
The shell is formed as one piece. That is also why it goes up in about 45 minutes and comes apart cleanly when you move.
The absorption behind the cladding, in place of mineral wool.
A single-material shell is a shell that can be reclaimed rather than landfilled.

Breathe it yourself
The honest test for indoor air is to sit in it. Our Bangkok showroom is the place to do that.
